Registration Policies

Three Course Maximum: Students may only register for a maximum of three (3) courses in a given semester. Exceptions for four course registration may be granted with prior approval from the Academic Advisor.

Pre-requisites: Pre-requisites, as listed in the course description, must be met for upper-level coursework prior to registration in a course that has pre-requisites.

Advanced Course Considerations: Courses with numbers > 700 are advanced courses with prerequisites. They are generally more difficult. Students with GPAs <3.0 must get approval from their academic advisor before registering for a 700 level course.

Considerations for International Students: In general, international students must take at minimum of three 3-credit courses or the equivalent as per VISA/I20 restrictions. Students with a provision on their admission because of English should consult their academic advisor to plan an appropriate schedule depending on the English provision.

Academic Advising: All students are required to obtain mandatory advising prior to the start of their first semester. This should be completed after the placement exams. Students are not required to obtain mandatory advising after their first semester, however, it is highly recommended that students meet with their academic advisor prior to the start of each semester to make sure that they are on track with their courses and that course work is complimentary to their career goals. Students should schedule academic advising appointments online.
